2. Relaxation in Selection Criteria.

(1).  Education 8th class instead of matric in all arms/Services except
Technicians, Nursing/Asst and Corps of Military Police (CMP).
(2).  Height 5’-4” instead of 5’-6” and chest 74-79 instead of 78-83 cm
except trade in which height and chest is required more than 5’-6” and
78-83 cm.
(3). Age 26 years instead of 23 years.
(4). FA/Fsc grade D instead of grade C for enrollment of Clerk.
b.  FATA. – 30% under matric Infantry Soldier instead of matric. 2
c.  Gilgit – Baltistan.
(1). 2” height relaxation in all arms/Services.
(2).  50% under matric (8th Class) soldiers instead of matric in all
arms/services less Technician, Nursing/Asst and Corps of Military
Police (CMP).
(3).  FA/FSc grade D instead of Grade C for enrollment of Clerk.
d. Common for All.
(1). 1” relaxation in height and chest to individuals falling within age
bracket of 17-20 years.
(2).  1 year age relaxation for individuals having qualification BA/BSc and
above.
(3). 17-1/2 – 25 years age for individuals having valid driving license for
enrolment of driver.
3. Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure.    Candidates can either
register by visiting nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs), Regimental
Centers and Army Selection and Recruitment Offices (AS&ROs).
a. Written Tests. Written Test for entries of soldiers, matric and above is an
important segment of induction process. Pattern of question paper will be on
the following lines:-
(1) English (30 Marks). This part will consist of easy translation both
English to Urdu and Urdu to English and simple singular/plurals.
(2) Urdu (20 Marks). This portion will include the corrections of sentences,
simple singular/plurals and change of the gender.
(3) Mathematics (20 Marks). 5 questions framed from Factorization,
Logarithm, Subtraction of Polynomials, Algebra and Variations will be
given in this section.
(4) General Knowledge,Islamiyat and Geography (10 Marks each). In
these segments 10 question each from all three subjects will be asked
from the candidates in the form of fill in the blanks and multiple choice.
6. Documents Required at AS&RCs    
a. Original certificate / detailed Marks Sheet of Matric/FA/FSc / Equivalent.3
b. Computerized National Identity Card for 18 years and above or Computerized
Form “B” alongwith Guardian’s Computerized National Identity Card (Father or
Mother) for less than 18 years old.
c. Two set of attested photocopies of above mentioned documents.
d. 6 x Coloured photos duly attested (front and back) by Principal/Class 1
Gazetted Officer.
e. Registration Fee Rs 50/-.

JOIN PAKISTAN ARMY IN ARMED FORCES NURSING SERVICE (AFNS)

surrender nationality other than Pakistani.
d. PHYSICAL STANDARDS
(1) Minimum Height - 5’- 2“ (157.5cm)
(2) Weight - As per the Body Mass Index
2. INELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
a. Twice rejected by the GHQ Selection Board.
b. Declared Medically Unfit by Appeal Medical Board.
c. Individual withdrawn/resigned/discharged from Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air
Force) training academies institution on the ground of discipline, characters,
medical inefficiency, weak profile or declared unsuitable.
d. Individual dismissed/removed from any other government service.
e. Candidates already registered with Pakistan Nursing Council.
f. Convicted by a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.2
3. REGISTRATION AND PRELIMINARY SELECTION PROCEDURE.   Candidates can
either register through Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs).
Following procedure will be adopted:-
a. REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET. A candidate can register on website
www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk.  Date and time of test shall be intimated on individual’s
e-mail address.  Candidates will report on date and time given for preliminary test
on computerized roll number slip.  Date once given will not be changed.
Candidates will also bring along documents mentioned in para 6 and will pay
prospectus fee on the day of test.  Candidates must attain working knowledge of
computer.
b. REGISTRATION AT AS&RCs.   The candidates may report at nearest AS&RC for
registration/allotment of roll number along with necessary documents mentioned in
para 6 and the prospectus fee  for completion of registration formalities.  The
candidates will bring these documents on the day of test as well.
c. SELECTION OF REGISTRATION/PRELIMINARY TEST. Registration and
preliminary test will be held as per announced schedule.
d. PRELIMINARY MEDICAL TEST.  The candidates will undergo initial medical test
at AS&RCs.
4. FURTHER SELECTION.     Interviews of successful candidates by the GHQ Selection
Board will be held at Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Karachi, Quetta, and Rawalpindi for which
separate  call up letters will be issued.  Successful candidates will receive call up notices for
interview/medical examination/joining of training through website as well as call up letter. The
final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of candidate’s overall performance.
5.       TRAINING PERIOD.   3 years General Nursing Training at various Combined Military
Hospitals (CMHs). After successful completion of training, shall be granted Commission in the
rank of Lieutenant.  
6. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT AS&RCs.     Candidates will deposit the following
documents with AS&RCs:-
a. Original certificates/detailed marks sheets along with two attested photocopies of
each educational certificate/degree..
b. Candidates serving in Government’s institutions/departments will render No
Objection Certificate (NOC) of the concerned establishment.
c. Attested photocopy of domicile.
d. Photocopies of computerized national Identity Card.
e. 6 x Coloured photos duly attested (front & back).
f. Crossed postal order of Rs. 100/- in favour of Director General Personnel
Administration (DGPA), GHQ Rawalpindi.3
Note:  Old National Identity Card will not be accepted.
7. BOND.   Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for
minimum period of five years for General Nursing before the commencement of training.

5. TRAINING PERIOD AT PMA / AFPGMI.   22 weeks training at PMA and AFPGMI for
male and female candidates respectively.
6. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT AS&RCs
a. Original certificates / detailed Marks Sheets alongwith two attested photocopies
of each educational certificate / degree / diploma.
b.    Two attested photo copies of registration certificate of PM&DC for GDMOs,
     and Specialists
     c.  Two attested photo copies of house job certificate, if already done.
     d.    Candidates serving in Govt Institutions/ Departments will render No
            Objection Certificate of the concerned establishment.
e.        Attested photo copy of domicile.
      f.        Photo copy of Computerized  National Identity Card.

(2) Push Ups - 10 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(3) Sit Ups - 10 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(4) Chin Ups - 2 Repetitions in 2 Minute
g.    ISSB TESTS.  Shortlisted candidates will receive intimation for ISSB tests
through website as well as call up letters.
4. FURTHER SELECTION. Detailed medical examination of candidates recommended
by ISSB will be carried out at nearby CMHs. Candidates who are recommended by ISSB will
be called for interview by GHQ Selection Board at Quetta, Karachi, Multan, Lahore,
Rawalpindi and Peshawar. Final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of candidate’s
overall performance.

on website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk.  Date and time of test shall be

4.  FURTHER SELECTION. Medical examination of candidates
recommended by ISSB will be carried out at nearby CMHs. Candidates who are
recommended by ISSB will be called for interview by GHQ Selection Board at
Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. The final selection will be made at GHQ on the
basis of candidates overall performance.

EDUCATION.     FSc (Pre Engineering) Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry /
Computer Studies / Computer Science with minimum 65% marks or ‘O’ level
passed (English being compulsory) in five subjects and ‘A’ level passed in
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry / Computer Studies/Computer Science
in Grade A-C.
(1) Candidates possessing qualifications such as ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level
etcetera will be required to obtain Equivalence Certificate and
conversion of marks from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC),
Ministry of Education, Islamabad and attach it with application form.
(2) Candidates who have passed FSc Part-I Examination with minimum
65% marks and appeared / are appearing in FSc Part-II / Final
Examination can also apply on “HOPE Certificates” duly issued by
Head of the institutions.
(3) Candidates with Computer Science instead of Chemistry in FSc can
apply for Computer Software Engineering only.

“Not Recommended” twice by ISSB / GHQ Selection Board.
b. Declared medically unfit by concerned CMH / Appeal Medical Board.
c. Enrolled cadets and recruits withdrawn / resigned / discharged / dismissed
from Armed Forces (Army, Navy & Air Force) training academies / institutions
on grounds of discipline, character, medical, inefficiency, weak profile, or
declared unsuitable.
d. An individual dismissed / removed from any other Government Service.
e. Diploma holders.
f. Convicted by a court of law for an offence involving moral turpitude.2
g. Those studying in any of the Armed Forces Institutions / Academies or
nominated against reserved defence quota seats / studying as Paying Cadet
in any of the Armed Forces Technical Colleges.

Candidates can either register through Internet or by visiting Army Selection and
Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs). Following procedure will be adopted:-

website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. Date and time of test shall be intimated
on internet, for which the individual should have an  e-mail account.
Candidates will report on exact date and time given for preliminary test on
computerized roll no slip. Date once given will not be changed. Candidates
will also bring along documents mentioned in para 6 and will pay prospectus
fee on the day of test. Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of
computer.

.    Candidates may report at nearest AS&RCs
for registration / allotment of roll no alongwith necessary documents
mentioned in para 6 and the prospectus fee for completion of registration
formalities. Candidates will bring these documents on the day of test as well.

d. PRELIMINARY SELECTION

WRITTEN / INTELLIGENCE TESTS.    Written test will be based on
multiple choice questions from English, Physics, Mathematics and
Chemistry / Computer Studies / Computer Science (Only for CS
students). Candidates declared successful in written / intelligence test,
will undergo physical tests at AS&RCs.
(2)   PHYSICAL TESTS.  Candidates must qualify  following physical tests :-
(a) 1.6 Km Run     -    8½ Minutes
(b) Push Ups        -    15 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(c) Sit Ups            -    15 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(d) Chin Ups         -     3 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
(e) Ditch Crossing -    7’4” x 7’4” with a Depth of 4’3
(3) PRELIMINARY MEDICAL TEST

.    Candidates will undergo initial
medical test at AS&RCs.
FURTHER SELECTION

.     Short listed candidates will receive notice for ISSB tests
through website as well as call up letter. Medical examination of ISSB recommended candidates
will be carried out at nearby CMHs.  Final selection will be made at GHQ  on the basis of
candidate’s overall performance. Allocation of disciplines will be made with due consideration to
merit, choice and service requirements. Allotment of discipline / decision of GHQ will be final and
no representation in this regard or request for change in discipline allotted will be entertained.

(3) Serving Army Soldiers. 50 %  marks  in  FA/FSc  and   equivalent.
(4) Hope Certificate.  Candidates who have passed Part-1 of Intermediate
Examination with minimum 60% marks and appeared / are appearing in
Part-II/Final Examination can also apply on “Hope Certificate” by the Head
of the institutions.

.    Candidates who are selected by AS&RCs will be called for ISSB
Test by GHQ. Medical examination of ISSB recommended candidates will be carried out at
nearby CMHs. The final  selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of candidate’s overall
performance.

are also required for “Repeater Candidates”.

7. PAKISTAN NATIONALS RESIDING ABROAD.  Eligible candidates residing abroad
are exempted from Preliminary Selection. However, Defence Attaches will  ascertain their
overall suitability, physical deformity and stammering aspects. The candidates are advised to
approach Pakistani Embassies (Military/Defence Attaches) in the country where residing or
Personnel Administration Directorate PA-3(a), GHQ Rawalpindi, for issuance of Application
Forms. They will submit their Application Forms alongwith connected documents through
Pakistani Embassies. A postal order of Rs. 100/- and a Bank Draft of Rs. 500/- in the name of
Director Personnel Administration (Selection), Personnel Administration Directorate, GHQ
Rawalpindi will be attached with the Application Form. Postal address in Pakistan should also
be indicated in the Application Forms so that call up notice for ISSB Tests/ Interviews and
further correspondence to eligible candidates can be made on the given Pakistani address. No
traveling allowance will be admissible for traveling to and from Pakistan.
Note:- If selected candidates for current entry are more than the required induction, the left
over candidates would be considered for next PMA Long Course entry subject to
fulfillment of eligibility conditions / merit.

First you got to have commission in the army and then after a service of 2-3 years you can volenteer for the SSG. You have to appear in the selection test(which is a physical one-tough ofcourse) and then you land in SSG school for OACC (officers advance commando course). 9 months of unbearable traing and then you get the most prestiges SSG wing to put on your unifrom.
